The Conception of Intellectual Brain Computer Interface: Fundamentals and Experiment

چکیده

The theoretical analysis for difficulties of application modern brain computer interface (BCI) systems has made us to understand the basic problem for using BCI: users should continuously be in a condition of mental concentration on a some amount of the certain mental tasks. Our idea is for the purpose of improving the BCI system by exempting the user from conscious concentration on the definite images and simultaneously by giving BCI new function of search user’s subconscious mental states, which could serve as commands for target devices. This function assumes some analytical and highly adaptive actions of BCI in relation to a brain of the person. Using a combination of procedures for feature extraction and classification of EEG and a special algorithm, which is based on active influence of BCI on the user mental state we have developed a new type of BCI named Intellectual BCI. Application of system in a real training has shown that users were able to express the emotions through target registers of IBCI without conscious efforts but by means of one only EEG pattern will learn.
